It is an augmented reality (AR) badge and business card. By replacing QR codes, Aur+a recognises attendees, facilitating faster check-in and allowing exhibitors to welcome them to their stands in a more personalised way, for example.environmentally friendly and efficient,” emphasises Josephine Declerck, who lists the various advantages of using this system.
For organisers, Aur+a provides “faster and more secure check-in using facial recognition, reducing waiting times” and offering “personalised check-in for investors, speakers, sponsors, etc.”. For attendees, “no more embarrassing ‘I forgot your name’ moments”, as the AR badges “instantly display names and relevant information”, he guarantees. And for exhibitors, it allows real-time integration of customer relationship management or stand analysis, for example.
According to Josephine Declerck, this solution has already been used at events such as the Global Innovation Forum (in London), Google events or the MIT Hackathon. “We have pilots coming up with AWE, IMEX, ICCA, and we’re in discussions with Havas Events, Publicis and many more,” she says.
“The feedback has been extremely positive. Organisers love the simplified check-in process, whileattendees experience the ‘wow effect’ of networking enhanced by augmented reality,” she adds.
Privacy is taken “very seriously”
On how the data of event participants is protected, Josephine Declerck assures that the company takes privacy “very seriously” and that it “fully complies with the GDPR and global data protection laws”.
“Our system does not store biometric data – facial recognition is used only for check-in and remains active only during the event and within its geographical zone,” she says. In addition, the system “encrypts all data, ensuring that it is used exclusively for the purpose of the event, with participants being able to opt out at any time”, and also “allows all data to be deleted from the application, ensuring full compliance”.
In addition to attendee recognition and AR badges, Aur+a has other solutions: Enhanced Lead Scanning (“exhibitors can track interactions and get information about attendees”); stand and event analytics (“real-time heat maps and engagement tracking”) and integration with event apps and customer relationship management (“networking and sales tracking”), says Josephine Declerck.
