After opening a unit in Cantanhede, B&B Hotels opens its second hotel in Portugal, this time in Braga. With the new B&B Hotel Braga Lamaçães, with 52 rooms, the hotel group offers a total of 250 rooms in the country.

With an 'econochic' and 'smart sleep' concept, B& Hotels will transform the Braga Lamaçães Hotel, which is located in a dynamic area in the city of Braga, with tourist attraction and industrial activity. The group, which has agreed to a long-term rental scheme for the hotel unit, thus reinforces its investment in Portugal.

“This second hotel in Portugal is excellent news for both the chain and guests. We are very pleased because investing in a very dynamic and attractive market, as is the Portuguese, is paying off. The new B&B Hotel Braga Lamaçães perfectly represents B&B Hotels' values of welcoming, design and functionality. In short, a well-thought-out hotel that offers affordable prices for every budget without compromising comfort,” said Torcato Faria, country manager of B&B Hotels in Portugal, in a statement.

The new B&B Hotel Braga Lamaçães offers several accommodation options in 52 single, double and family rooms. All guests will be able to enjoy buffet breakfast, free wi-fi throughout the building, free coffee and hot drinks, 24-hour reception and 15-car outdoor parking garages, and 20-car indoor parking.

The hotel group, which by the end of 2020 plans to have more than 620 hotels and to offer around 55,000 rooms, last year saw an 18.2% increase in global sales and the opening of 50 new hotels. By 2020, the group plans to have ten hotels in Portugal.

“After a year of record growth, this second hotel in Portugal significantly strengthens our presence in the Iberian Peninsula, with a total of 34 hotels open to public. The new B&B Hotel Braga Lamaçães is the result of our total investment in Portugal, a very attractive destination, where our hotels have enormous potential. We currently have a large number of projects underway and continue to look for opportunities to follow our sustained growth throughout the region, with the purpose of expanding our network of ten hotels in Portugal by the year 2020. Spain and Portugal are two key markets to our group development and in our ambition to remain the undisputed leader of budget hotels,” said Jairo González, CEO of B&B Hotels in Spain and Portugal, in a press release.
