Brazilian tourist municipalities grouped into five categories

27/08/2015

The proposal of grouping municipalities into categories aims to facilitate the creation of public policies and adds objective requirements to invest in the sector.

The purpose of categorization, as it is called, "is not to rank the cities, but rather group them so that we can trace parameters to meet different needs," says Tourism Minister, Henrique Eduardo Alves.

The 3,345 municipalities of the Brazilian Tourism Map are now divided into five categories, from A to E. The government's idea is that knowing each municipality group characteristics makes it easier to adequately support each of them.
