Congress generates 20 million euros for Lisbon

The 31st edition of the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology Congress had over 10,200 attendants, 9,550 of whom were foreigners. In hotel revenues, catering, transport and tourism, the event generated approximately EUR 20 million to the city of Lisbon.

Organised by Mundiconvenius, this event held between 13th and June 17th was the biggest European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology annual congress, according to the company's press release.

Luísa Teixeira, Mundiconvenius Executive Director, states that it took "seven years to bring this event to Portugal, two years of work to organise and four days of accomplishment."

Luísa Teixeira also said that "these data confirm the potential of our country to host such events and are proof that we are, as Portuguese professionals, at the same level as the best that is done in the world".
