Osaka launches MICE guideline and hosts a large-scale exhibition

Japan’s first large-scale exhibition since lifting the state of emergency takes place in Osaka.

The Osaka Convention & Tourism Bureau has been actively promoting Osaka’s efforts to reopen safely in a “with-corona” era, starting with the events industry. For that, the convention bureau has launched guidelines for MICE event organizers to safely hold business events, and they can be found here.

And the 29th of July marks the opening of the 12th Kansai Hotel & Restaurant Show, organized by the Japan Management Association as well as four other organizations, which is the first large-scale exhibition since lifting the state of emergency in Japan.

Hiroshi Mizohata, president of the Osaka Convention & Tourism Bureau, a supporting organization for the exhibition, expressed in his congratulatory address, “By firstly holding Japan’s first major exhibition amid the coronavirus pandemic, we want to send a big, encouraging shout to those concerned about exhibitions and international meetings held across Japan.” The venue was filled with thunderous applause, signifying high hopes for the resumption of the MICE industry and for the recovery of economic activity
