The six Brazilian cities that will be part of the Olympic Games 2016 are already confirmed.

Rio de Janeiro, Belo Horizonte, Brasilia, Manaus, Salvador and São Paulo will receive national teams from more than 60 countries.

Vinicius Lummertz, Embratur President, says that this "is an opportunity to strengthen Brazil's potential as a tourist destination. Rio de Janeiro will be the gateway for foreigners to know the country."

In addition to the Olympic Games, tourists can count on a quite rich cultural heritage. They will be able to remember cities founded by the Portuguese Discoveries, over 300 churches and some buildings designed by architect Oscar Niemeyer.
