This year's edition of BTL – Better Tourism Lisbon Travel Market, which runs from 25 February to 1 March, is recording record growth.

The tourism fair, which will take place at FIL – Parque das Nações, will feature 1,700 exhibitors, 125 international destinations – representing a 20% growth in the international area – and will occupy a total area of 60,000 square metres, reflecting high demand from public entities, companies and destinations.

According to BTL, these figures confirm the sustained growth of the event and its relevance on the global stage, establishing itself as a driver of development, business and internationalisation in the tourism sector.

In the B2B segment, BTL will bring together more than 200 qualified buyers from 42 source markets and around 500 national and international companies, creating an environment conducive to establishing partnerships, opening new markets and strengthening the tourism value chain.

BTL has seen high demand across the board and significant growth in key areas: hospitality (+27%), services (+15%) and distribution (+10%).

‘BTL continues to grow consistently, reinforcing its role as a unique platform for business, networking and destination promotion. These results demonstrate not only the vitality of the tourism sector, but also the confidence of national and international agents in BTL as a privileged space for generating value, innovation and competitiveness,’ said Dália Palma, coordinating manager of BTL, in a press release.

Promoted by the AIP Foundation, the 36th edition of BTL will bring together the best of Portuguese and international tourism in an event that combines business, knowledge, innovation and experience, reinforcing the contribution of tourism to the Portuguese economy.
