ICCA's new Portuguese members

The International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) welcomes five new Portuguese members, presented at the Iberian Chapter meeting, held in Zaragoza, Spain, between 2 and 4 April.

The five new Portuguese members of the ICCA are: AVK-One, CIM Global, GR8 Events, THE - The House of Events and Coimbra - Centre of Portugal Convention Bureau.

Event Point heard exclusively from the two companies that were represented at the Iberian Chapter meeting in Zaragoza.

Vânia de Oliveira, event manager at AVK-One, began by emphasising the ‘enormous enthusiasm and pride’ with which the group is making its debut at a Chapter meeting. ‘Reaffirming our commitment as leaders of the audiovisual sector in Portugal, we are focused on actively promoting our country.’ The AVK-One representative went on to say that ‘it's important for the main players in this industry to be together’, fostering ‘synergies’ and thereby ‘attracting major events to Portugal’.

Tânia Ferreira, partner and business director for Portugal at CIM Global, emphasised ‘the importance of collaboration and sharing’. ‘Being at the ICCA allows us to cross barriers, whether they be between countries or areas of activity, so that we can exchange knowledge and experience and learn from each other.’ The head of CIM Global, a PCO that has had its European base in Lisbon since 2023, added that belonging to the Iberian Chapter is a source of pride, ‘because we can also contribute our international experience and our knowledge of the world.
