They were the first venues in Portugal to receive this international label.

“CCL - Lisboa Congress Centre and FIL - Lisboa Exhibition and Congress Centre were the first venues in Portugal to receive the Safe Travels stamp”, awarded by the World Travel & Tourism Coucil (WTTC), one can read in a statement from Fundação AIP, which owns those two venues.

The stamp intends to certify, among other companies, venues that “comply with hygiene and safety rules, transmitting confidence to participants and visitors.”

“This award consolidates our position as a leader in the Meetings Industry sector, rewarding the effort made by all our teams in the scope of implementing a set of standards that aim to restore the levels of trust and security for our employees, customers and visitors”, says Jorge Rocha de Matos, president of Fundação AIP, in this statement.

The protocols issued by the World Travel & Tourism Coucil are prepared according to the guidelines of WHO - World Health Organisation and CDC - Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, in the United States.

In fact, Portugal was the first European destination to receive this stamp, and on the official WTTC website, a testimony by Rita Marques, Secretary of State for Tourism, stands out, referring: "Portugal has been committed in reassuring our tourists they will always have the best experience in our country. This stamp, together with our “Clean & Safe” program, is one step further in reassuring everyone that we take care, our destination is focused on recovery and trust is at the core of our business."
