Ministry of Economy launches M&I Portugal program

The Ministry of Economy, through its Secretary of State for Tourism, has just launched the M&I Portugal (Meetings & Incentives Portugal) program.

The Ministry of Economy, through its Secretary of State for Tourism, has just launched the M&I Portugal (Meetings & Incentives Portugal) program in order to support the search and holding of conferences and corporate events in Portugal. This program, which extends through 2018, will be conducted by an expert team created for this purpose and coordinated by Joaquim Pires, from Tourism of Portugal.

For the Secretary of State for Tourism Ana Mendes Godinho, "This program is an essential tool for the development of activities that generate attractiveness in destinations, reversing the tourist seasonality and mitigating regional disparities", as can be read in a statement from the Ministry of Economy.

About the M&I Portugal, "there will also be available online a promotion platform of congresses and corporate events taking place in Portugal, the supply of existing venues for them and a calendar of events, including cultural, sports and gastronomic, aiming for an integrated national supply offer."

This program "will be monitored throughout its duration", seeking "to optimise its implementation," the statement read.
