It will be possible in 2017. The House of Sandeman Hostel & Suites project is a partnership between Sogrape and The Independente Collective (MBD) group, that are now announcing the investment in a tourist facility which is assumed to be the first branded hostel in the world, a place where the customer will have the opportunity to enjoy a wide range of experiences related to the Sandeman Port wine brand.
Duarte D'Eça Leal, The Independente Collective founder, believes that this partnership is especially attractive because it "allowed not only to create a distinctive design, but also mark the The Independente Collective Group presence in the North" reveals. Manuel Guedes, Sogrape director responsible for wine tourism, mentions "this is undoubtedly an innovative investment in such a traditional sector such as the Port Wine".
The project renovation works are located inside the Sandeman cellars building and begin this month, its opening being planned for the last quarter of 2017.
The new hostel will feature 10 suites and five berths for a total of 73 beds, a restaurant, a terrace, a bar, a lounge and a room for events.
