The Event Gap to Explore the Future of Association Events

The full event lifecycle – from planning and delivery to long-term impact – will take centre stage on 9 July with The Event Gap.
Natter, in partnership with Accenture and ASAE, hosts The Event Gap, a global roundtable designed to help association event professionals identify new opportunities, exchange ideas and co-create practical solutions for the future of events.
The Event Gap is a 45-minute online discussion that will focus on the three key stages of the event journey: before, during and after. Bringing together association event leaders from around the world, the session will explore how events can strengthen belonging, build trust and create greater value for both attendees and organisations.
The participants will contribute their own perspectives ahead of the event through a short pre-session conversation. These insights will help shape the discussion itself, ensuring the session reflects the challenges and opportunities currently facing the association sector.
The roundtable will open with keynote contributions from Iliana Oris Valiente, Managing Director and Head of Connected Innovation Centers for The Americas at Accenture, who will discuss the importance of fostering a culture of experimentation and what it means for associations navigating rapid change.
Participants will also hear from Lisette Garrity, CMP, Vice President of Meetings at ASAE, who will share insights into preparing attendees for the ASAE Annual Meeting, engaging first-time participants and measuring event success beyond traditional performance metrics.
Following the presentations, attendees will take part in structured peer conversations, connecting with association event professionals from across the globe to exchange experiences and best practices.
Rather than ending with the discussion itself, The Event Gap will produce a practical outcome: a co-created report, shared with participants immediately after the session. The report will capture collective insights on where association events are heading while providing a practical toolkit to help organisations strengthen every stage of the event experience.
The online session will take place on 9 July at 11:00 a.m. ET / 4:00 p.m. UK time. Registrations here.
