Olympic torch carried through 300 Brazilian cities

The 2016 Olympic Games will take place from 5th to 21st August and the Olympic torch will go through more than 300 Brazilian cities. The 83 cities where the Olympic Torch will "stop" were presented in a launching event which was attended by President Dilma Rousseff and Rio 2016 Committee President, Carlos Arthur Nuzman, along with ministers, public figures, athletes and representatives of the Brazilian Olympic Committee. According to the Brazilian Tourism Institute President, Vinicius Lummertz, "as with the World Cup, the world's eyes will be turned to Brazil during the Olympic Games in 2016. Going through every state in the country, the Olympic Torch will promote different Brazilian tourism destinations".
A study by the Ministry of Tourism shows that during the World Cup Brazil received more than a million foreign tourists. In addition to the hosting cities, more than 450 towns were visited. According to the same study, over 95% of foreigners have shown willingness to come back and the Olympic Games were singled out as the main reason to return by 65% of respondents.
