IMEX America cancelled

15/06/2020

The exhibition was supposed to take place in Las Vegas, from September 15th to 17th, in what would be the its 10th edition.

In a joint message, signed by Ray Bloom and Carina Bauer, chairman and CEO of the IMEX Group, it is stated that, since the beginning of the lockdowns, IMEX America has represented for many a beacon of hope, which makes the decision even more "difficult". And three reasons were presented.

First, due to restrictions on air travel, IMEX does not feel able to guarantee the quality of the hosted buyers program, which justifies the participation of exhibitors.

Second, this decision comes at a time when it is still possible to control the risks and losses of the participants. Losses that would be much higher if this decision had to be taken closer to the date of the fair.

And third, as IMEX America is a global event, with more than 13,000 professional visitors from outside North America, and once again because of travel restrictions, the organisers do not believe it is possible for exhibitors, buyers and visitors to commit to being present in Las Vegas at this year's edition of the fair.

The message continues with the promise that the IMEX team will be very busy preparing for the 2021 editions, both in Frankfurt and Las Vegas, looking forward to welcoming people from the global event industry in person once more.

After the May experience with PlanetIMEX, the Group also guarantees that it will continue to promote, digitally, the meeting between professionals in this industry.
